Network 21 magazine was launched in October 1993 by
the Conservation Foundation with the support of the
Corporation of London. The magazine's aim is to increase
awareness of conservation projects internationally by the
promotion of positive environmental news. It also aims to
encourage action and improve the exchange of information,
both across national boundaries, and between the public,
private and voluntary sectors.
Network 21 is mailed free of charge to a wide and
growing list of key national, regional and local
government officials, environmentalists, business people,
journalists, opinion formers and other interested
parties.
In addition to copies mailed out directly by the Conservation Foundation,
copies are also distributed by the European Commission (DGXI) and
the European Environment Bureau. CPL was asked
to take over the design and production of the magazine late in 1999.
The
Conservation Foundation was founded in 1982 by David
Bellamy and David Shreeve to provide a means for people
in public, private and non-profit sectors to collaborate
through a wide variety of programmes and initiatives
often with the support of commercial organisations.
