There are lots of companies offering publishing services. Some of them are excellent. Others are absolutely dire. But how can you choose between them?

The problem is intensified by the fact that most companies and organisations have just one main publication, which is very precious to them; and a bungling publishing house can do an awful lot of damage to your credibility before you can haul them off the case.
